Building Lasting Change Together.

Providing the bridge between need & support in the Dominican Republic.

Why Cabrera?

Imagine trying to learn in a bamboo shelter with a tin roof, water pouring in and distractions from sounds around, making it nearly impossible to focus or study. Or picture working tirelessly to build a small business—desperate to support your family—but with no tools, guidance, or way to reach customers. It’s the feeling of being stuck, full of motivation but with no real path forward.

This is the daily reality for many in Cabrera. But for those who are determined to work for a better future, we believe they deserve the chance to build a better life.

Lasting Change

The Cabrera Center for Progress is dedicated to enriching the lives of local residents by inspiring positive, lasting change. Through programs that strengthen individual capabilities and develop valuable skills, the Center will spark a ripple effect of empowerment throughout the community. This investment in people and potential will ultimately lead to a stronger, more vibrant Cabrera for all.

Why Us?

Jessica and Rupert McCormac were married on the stunning beaches of Cabrera, but their experience went far beyond the walls of their beautiful villa. They explored the community, connected with its people, and quickly fell in love with the spirit and warmth of the town. As they learned more about the daily challenges of life in Cabrera, they felt a strong desire to help create lasting change.

They envisioned a place offering education, opportunity, resources—a path to a better future. That vision became the Cabrera Center for Progress. Today, they are working hand-in-hand with the community to bring that vision to life.
